The Modern Manufacturing Initiative (MMI) is now open with funding available for the Space National Manufacturing Priority.
An online information session by AusIndustry will provide an overview of the Manufacturing Translation and Integration streams, including eligibility requirements and key points from the assessment criteria.
The information session will also provide some general tips for presenting a strong application. The session will be recorded and uploaded to business.gov.au. The session will be held on Wednesday, 24 February 2021, 2:00pm – 3:30pm AEDT.
The Space National Manufacturing Priority road map was released in conjunction with the opening of the Modern Manufacturing Initiative funding. Businesses with projects in the space sector are the first to be able to apply for grants to help them commercialise ideas or processes, or integrate into global supply chains.
The road map sets a plan for industry and government to work together towards a common vision to back space manufacturing. This complements the Australian Civil Space Strategy and the Australian Space Agency’s broader work.
The Space Industry of Australia (SIAA)
The Space Industry of Australia is the national peak body for the space industry in Australia,
representing more than 600 members. Formed in 1992, SIAA hosted the 2017 International Astronautical
Congress in Adelaide which led to the establishment of the Australian Space Agency in 2018. SIAA and
its member companies work closely with Australian governments, international partners, academia, and
industry to advance Australia’s space industry and economy.
