Space Café WebTalk – “33 minutes with Dr. John B. Sheldon”
June 23 - 4:00 pm - 4:33 pm
Dr. John B. Sheldon will talk about the rise of Lunapolitics, where the Moon, its topography, and cislunar space intersects with political and economic interests. With the US set to return humans to the Moon in 2024, and China seeking to send a crewed mission there as well, along with the lunar agendas of India, Russia, Japan, and the European Space Agency, we are now in an age where the Moon and its resources are the object of state interests and economic exploitation. Dr. Sheldon will talk about the vast political, economic, and strategic implications of Lunapolitics and what it portends for space policy, business, and humanity’s future in space.
The audience will have an opportunity to ask questions in dialogue with Dr. John B. Sheldon.
