Science Show: Destination Moon & Beyond!
July 9 - 10:30 am - July 11 - 11:30 am
In 2019, the world celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 lunar landing and first moonwalk!
Australia’s space tracking stations played a vital supporting role, relaying to the world the first televised images of Neil Armstrong stepping onto the Moon’s surface. Join us at the Australian Museum for Destination Moon & Beyond science show to develop an appreciation for Astronomy that gives us insight into our place in the Universe.
How do spacecrafts turn in space? What would happen to an Astronaut if they didn’t wear a spacesuit? Why does the Moon look different throughout the month? These questions and more will be explored in this cosmic science show full of demonstrations that will blow your mind!
Take ‘one giant leap’ and discover the science required to reach the Moon and the space programs that made it all happen. From trajectories and orbits to roaring rocketry and materials science, we’ll look at current and future space programs, operations and missions.
We think this show is pretty out of this world!
