The MMI is the centrepiece of the Australian Government’s Modern Manufacturing Strategy (MMS). The MMI Translation and Integration streams will help businesses to commercialise and scale up great manufacturing ideas, drive collaboration and identify new opportunities to access domestic and global value chains. On 31 March 2021, the Prime Minister and Hon Karen Andrews MP, former Minister for Industry, Science and Technology launched:

• The Defence National Manufacturing Priority road map

• Funding opportunities under the Modern Manufacturing Initiative Translation and Integration streams for projects that align with the Defence National Manufacturing Priority area

Funding opportunities

The MMI is now open providing co-funding for manufacturing projects across two streams:

The first round of the MMI Translation and Integrations streams is open for Resources Technology and Critical Minerals Processing , Food and Beverage and Defence National Manufacturing Priorities.
