Fly Me to the Moon

Fly Me to the Moon celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing in July 1969.
Gather under the Winter night sky at the historic Linden Observatory for a community singalong to songs celebrating the night sky and all within it. The evening begins with the Blue Mountains Bag Pipe band performing the theme from Star Wars. Performances and singalongs led by the Inspire Choir, Dave Garner and Matt Williamson. Songs include Fly Me to the Moon, Space Oddity, Across the Universe and Catch a Falling Star among others.
There will be telescopes to view the Moon, tours of the dome, projections on the dome and a ‘moon walk’ showing the history of the Apollo 11 mission. There will be a sausage sizzle and/or bring a picnic.
Rug up it will be cold. We will have some fires in braziers to help keep you warm.
Entry is $10 for adults. Children and residents of Linden have free entry.
