“Data + Analytics = Billion Dollar Opportunities” (Melbourne)
November 12 - 8:00 am - 9:30 am
Stone & Chalk and IAG Firemark Ventures
invite you to:
A Masterclass exploring “Data + Analytics = Billion Dollar Opportunities”
The world is awash with data as start-ups and corporates seek to gain a competitive edge by using innovative and proprietary datasets to better understand their customers, inform product development cycles and improve internal processes and operating models.
But data on its own can only be so useful. It is what you do with the data which makes it valuable. With advancements in AI, machine learning and computer vision, it is now possible to analyse and draw insights from large datasets like never before.
In this expert masterclass we will be exploring the intersection of data and analytics and what start-ups and corporates are doing to develop new products, create new customer experiences and build entirely new business models for the future.
Join us at 8am on Tuesday, 12 November 2019 @ Melbourne Stone & Chalk (Victorian Innovation Hub, 710 Collins St) where we will explore topics such as:
- How data is being commoditised by cheaper acquisition and storage costs.
- Advancements in AI, machine learning and computer vision which is enabling better analytics capability
- What start-ups and corporates can do to create new value from the intersection of data and analytics and the new products/business models being generated in this space
The masterclass will be moderated by Scott Gunther during which we will have a keynote presentation by Charlie Wood (General Partner, IAG Firemark Ventures), followed by start-up showcases from Digital Agricultural Services (agricultural analytics) and Michael Messig, CTO at ActivePipe. The showcases will then be followed up with a brief panel discussion and audience Q&A.
- Charlie Wood (General Partner, IAG Firemark Ventures)
- Rob Mellor (CTO, Digital Agricultural Services)
- Michael Messig (CTO, ActivePipe)
The event will run for approximately 90 minutes and will be opened with light refreshments from 8 – 8:30 am and then followed by networking after the panel at the Stone & Chalk venue in Melbourne.
