Advancing Earth Observation Forum (Brisbane)
August 23 - August 27
The Advancing Earth Observation forum will be a unique, engaging and interactive event – the focus is very much on learning, contributing and connecting. This will be achieved through a variety of activities encompassing audience participation, multiple forms of collaboration and learning, and opportunities to build networks.
Our ‘Earth Observation community’ is very diverse, including traditional remote sensing activities that transform images to information, industries that manufacture and operate satellites, aircraft and drones; and the multitude of industry, government and other groups that use products and services delivered from remote sensing for societal, scientific and recreation activities, to name a few.
The idea for a sustainable, inclusive and innovative forum was born out of the ‘areas for action’, as outlined in the 10 year Australian Earth Observation Community Plan 2026. It is a major step in addressing the needs that the community identified during this plan’s development. These include: greater connection and coordination, development of trained professionals, identifying needed infrastructure and generating value.
